Overview

DO CULTURE was commissioned by Soraya, a producer and DJ, to create editorial photography and a social reel as part of her rebrand. After a few years away, she was ready to return with a fresh visual identity rooted in a '90s baby R&B aesthetic.

We started by unpacking what this new chapter means to her: who her music is for, what she wants to stand for as an artist, and how her vision connects to the '90s era that inspires her. This conversation, combined with her initial ideas, formed the basis of our creative direction.

We shot in a minimalist studio environment with DJ and music equipment as props, keeping the focus stripped back and centred on Soraya. The result feels real, intimate, and authentic. Styling was built around the '90s baby theme, with hair and makeup designed to work seamlessly across different outfit selections.
